Principal Specialist - Sr Benefits Analyst
Position Description/Job Responsibilities
KBR is looking for an experienced, data-driven Sr. Benefits Analyst to be responsible for the administration and implementation of the US benefit plans including engaging in full life cycle systems implementations. This includes requirements gathering, business process analysis, GAP analysis, defining solutions, recommending best business practices, UAT, data conversion, and migration A successful candidate would be one who is considered an innovative thinker that is results and data driven, and is a collaborative and strategic partner who also thrives in a fast-paced and complex benefits group. The Sr. Benefits Analyst is someone who has advanced technical and partnership skills and can build rapport internally and externally and drive results through accountability in an agile environment. This job is a temporary position that will last 6-9 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as a lead for administration and implementation/benefit changes for all aspects of US Benefits (including Health and Welfare, Leave of Absence, and Retirement and Savings/401k). This role will also serve as the project lead regarding file integrations, testing, and implementation of new benefits or vendors.
Reporting to the US Benefits Manager, the person in this role will support the Benefits team's objective of providing and managing benefit solutions that allow KBR to achieve business goals while balancing the needs of our employees.
Serve as the lead regarding internal and external file integrations and ensure data cleanliness and transfer to establish successful implementation of current benefit initiatives.
Lead the testing process for all benefits related changes and implementations with external and internal partners
Serve as a subject matter expert for all aspects of benefits (Health and Welfare, LOA, and 401k)
Manage, identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve all benefit vendor integration file errors and data issues
Identify and develop continuous improvement solutions that create efficiency and improve the overall employee experience throughout the implementation process
Provide vendor management support and act as a key contact for vendors regarding changes, implementations, data issues, and file integrations
Lead benefits related implementations from a technical perspective (with oversight and assistance from the US Benefits Manager)
Partner with other internal partners including HR, Payroll, Health & Safety, HRIS and IT on benefits matters and implementation (to include troubleshooting SSO issues with third-party sites, updating and testing current file integrations, etc.)
Manage data analysis for the benefits team to include ensuring that all data sent to third-party vendors is clean and accurate
Supports Annual Enrollment from a technical perspective working with the benefits administration vendor to ensure that any changes to benefit plans and offerings are successfully updated in the benefits administration vendor's system
Manage all benefits related payroll integrations to ensure that payroll deductions are timely and accurate
Provide ad hoc reporting as needed to the benefits team and external stakeholders.
Requirements/Qualifications
HR experience within a high volume, fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment with minimal supervision
5+ years benefits experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources (benefits preferred)
Ability to translate system and process requirements to all involved parties for process enhancements and systems implementation
Ability to analyze and disseminate high volumes of data
Experience acting as a lead for vendor implementations/changes
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Strong knowledge of 401(k) plans and how they are setup
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
Strong preference for automating processes over manual solutions
Strong technical skills required: Intermediate level or better for Excel (must know pivots VLOOKUP's and other Excel formulas), Word, and Outlook
Ability to learn systems quickly such as HRIS and related programs
Ability to understand downstream impacts from and to the Benefits Functional Area when implementing system enhancements
Experience with leading quality assurance testing, scripts and bug reporting procedures, and ability to train other benefit team members on testing processes
Payroll system operation knowledge
Commitment to ethics and compliance
Workday and SAP experience is a plus
