Join Serco as a Light/Medium Vehicle Fleet Mechanic II in Colorado Springs, CO!
This position is contingent upon your ability to pass a preemployment criminal history check and drug screen.
Serco supports a large municipal and utility fleet (4,000+ units) performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repair of a diverse equipment set (light, medium and heavy duty diesel/gas cars/trucks; off-road construction equipment, snow plows, ATVs, Motorcycles, Generators, VAC trucks, and ancillary equipment). In this role, you will:
Perform operational and functional inspections, repairs, and maintenance on light to medium duty fleet vehicles and various construction equipment
Ability to work on a diverse equipment set, which includes mowers, trailers, trenchers, wood chippers, aerial manlifts, police sedans, light/medium trucks, SUV's, Vans, sedans, snow plows, sanders, mounted/non-mounted attachments, specialty equipment, etc.
Operate and perform diagnosis on equipment, maintain and repair hydraulic systems, route and replace hydraulic lines, check system for leaks and proper operation.
Perform advanced diagnosis and repair of complex electrical systems with OEM diagnostic tools and software (Ford, Dodge, GM, etc.).
Perform welding repairs when required
Perform routine vehicle and equipment preventive maintenance inspections, DOT inspections and replace fluids, checks lights and other electrical system components, etc.
Provide clear and accurate information when entering work order data into a fleet maintenance system.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Work under general supervision and is a self-starter.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will have:
At least 4 - 6 years of related experience
Advanced knowledge of medium duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair.
Advanced electrical system diagnosis and repair.
High school diploma or its equivalent
Valid unrestricted driver's license with good driving record
Basic Windows System and Microsoft Office Knowledge
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers
Must possess necessary skills to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment
Candidates must provide common technician hand tools
Additional desired experience and skills:
Automotive vocational/technical school certifications
ASE Certifications preferred or capable of gaining certifications within 12 months of hire.
Electric vehicle training, maintenance and repairs experience
Hydraulic experience preferred
Combination of Dodge, Ford, GM, Cummins, Allison, snowplow, sanders, small off-road construction equipment, etc. training/certification and/or 5 to 7 years of experience
Welding Certification and/or 3 to 5 years of experience
CDL Drivers License
