Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY: Reports to department manager/leadership. Knowledge of diagnostic radiology procedures to maintain a safe diagnostic Radiology environment. Provides airway management, monitoring of sedated patients, and support services in collaboration with physician(s), NP, or PA, as well as radiology and nursing staff. Performs a wide variety of patient care activities, accommodative services, and administrative functions to support the medical care of patients and families. Responsible for providing nursing care, treatments, and services. Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures. Provides support to orientation and training of staff. Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient, family, and staff education. Demonstrates effective use of time and resources. Must be able to travel between the main hospital and off-site CHKD locations. All nurses are required to cross-train between sedation and infusion services. This position requires you to rotate Saturdays. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum:

Current State license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. BSN preferred. Candidates must complete a BSN program within three years from their date of hire (if hired after July 1, 2012 must be actively enrolled in a BSN program with completion within three years). Pediatric experience preferred. RN specialty certification preferred (CPN, CCRN etc). CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. PEARS training required within 90 days of employment. PALS training required within 6 months of hire. Nurses who assist with cardiac procedures are required to obtain ACLS training within 12 months of hire. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
