Job Description
The Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for leading recruiting processes and execution across management/support, production, and Engineering Early Talent within Resource Industries. This role will have direct oversight for a team of recruiters & talent acquisition coordinators and will be accountable for providing strategic talent acquisition advisory and leadership for Resource Industries. The position will be tasked with fostering key relationships and partnerships with HR and Business Leaders across the segment and will be responsible for providing Talent Acquisition excellence and strategic partnership to elevate the greater TA function at Caterpillar.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Oversee & manage the total Talent Acquisition process, strategy & execution across the Resource Industries business. Effectively lead a team of recruiters and coordinators to drive best practices around the recruiting process and deliver top talent to meet key business needs, establishing strategic partnerships to elevate hiring manager and candidate satisfaction throughout the process.
Educate and train hiring managers and leaders on recruiting best practices, interviewing techniques, conducting reference checks, candidate selection, compensation considerations, and employee onboarding. Work collaboratively with Division hiring leaders and HR Business Partners to develop and maintain strategic partnerships to enable recruiting success.
Maintain and enhance measures of success across the Talent Acquisition team to drive consistent and repeatable hiring results. Manage team performance and identify & develop training plans to build and reinforce recruiter capabilities and best practices.
Assess recruiting analytics and hiring metrics to provide key business updates, stakeholder reviews and service level evaluations to ensure execution across key business objectives. Partner effectively with HR leadership & TA leadership to ensure clear messaging on hiring success and opportunities across the global business division.
Partner with peers across business divisions and central resource teams (Talent Acquisition, Employer Brand, Organizational Development, Compliance, Legal and others) to serve as a subject matter expert and advise best practices to enhance enterprise and division hiring processes.
Ensure division recruiting resources are utilized effectively by managing priorities and allocating resources where necessary.
Liaise with customer organizations to understand their needs and ensure recruiting organization is providing required services and maintaining internal client satisfaction.
Collaborate with HR Leadership and Division Business Leaders to conduct workforce planning and ensure alignment between global strategy and division recruiting targets.
Work closely with Resource Industries HR and Accounting/Finance to establish short and long term hiring goals. This includes the creation of annual business plans with month by month hiring outcomes.This includes not only account management of third party suppliers but also partnership with Caterpillar's inhouse marketing agency and potential vendors & partners.
Skills
Relationship Management: Develop and maintain effective relations with the hiring managers in span of support. Capability to manage multiple internal customers with ease.
Excellent Communication Skills: Displays strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with various levels of the organization, including strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of at least one additional local language as applicable for span of support preferred.
Client Service Orientation: Should have client service orientation to provide the highest level of client service.
Influencing and Negotiation skills: Ability to lead and coordinate efforts for recruiting team(s) assigned to support requisitions in span of support without a solid line reporting relationship.
Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze and interpret data including recruiting metrics.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Work Experience: 7+ years experience in Talent Acquisition or related field. 2+ years experience managing recruiters strongly preferred.
Experience delivering active and passive recruiting strategies and processes that meet evolving business needs.
Experience leading Diversity hiring projects/initiatives preferred.
Relationship Building: Ability to collaborate other areas of HR/Talent Management Teams to support business needs.
People/Resource Management: Demonstrated ability to lead regional/virtual team of resources. Prior experience managing local and remote recruiting teams preferred.
Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal presentation skills. Fluency in English required.
Business Acumen: Preferred experience interacting and presenting to senior business & HR leadership. Ability to comprehend and contribute to business discussions as it relates to talent acquisition across a defined business division or functional area. Prior experience supporting technology organizations strongly preferred.
