Position Description
Serco is seeking a Project Managerto join our talented and fast-paced team supporting millions of people applying for healthcare coverage via the Federal Facilitated Marketplace (Marketplace).As a project manager, you will manage all aspects of project delivery, providing guidance and influencing adherence to established best practices, processes and timelines to drive successful outcomes.
Full-time remote work is currently in effect due to the pandemic. When it is safe to return to work, this role will primarily be located in Serco's Herndon, VA office with option for part-time telework.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage multiple simultaneous medium-large size projects from inception to completion.
Coordinate with all the product line managers and other cross functional project stakeholders in all the aspects of project delivery.
Utilizes project resources in understanding and assisting in the definition of project scope, objectives, and priorities.
Analyze dependencies within the project as well as other active efforts on the program.
Responsible for getting a buy-in from all stakeholders in service delivery, operations, quality and IT to ensure a seamless deployment.
Manage and builds project schedules/plans to support project delivery
Utilize established mechanisms for monitoring and reporting the project progress to senior leadership and client.
Ensures projects are completed on time and schedule following established procedures and contract expectations.
Plan for potential risks on the assigned projects, create mitigation and contingency plans accordingly to minimize impacts to the delivery of simultaneous project efforts.
Communicate with senior leadership and client representatives concerning project delivery or scheduling conflicts.
Creates daily/weekly status reports highlighting project status for team and leadership.
Has teamwork approach to conflict resolution, inter-group activities.
Operates with minimal level of supervision and able to make timely and sound decisions.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will have:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Management or other, with 5-7 years of relevant experience managing mid to large size projects.
Experience managing software development projects.
Experience creating project schedules using Microsoft projects.
Demonstrated understanding of Project Management tools and best practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in client facing and internal roles
Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Flexible with proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience working both independently and, in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Proficient with various software programs like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Experience managing Agile and Waterfall SDLC
Scrum Master Certification is a plus
