The Repair Process Engineering (RPE) team creates and delivers sustainable reuse & salvage solutions that enable dealer performance and enhance their capability to provide timely, cost-effective & world-class repairs to our customers. We do this by: promoting an environment that engages and develops our people, developing and executing a process that delivers RPE NPI (New Product Introduction) targets (accurate, complete, and on time), using internal and external inputs to improve the quality and coverage of reuse and salvage information, and providing timely and effective resolution of customer support request.
The Service Information Developer 1 position will utilize our Service Information System (SIS) authoring tools to develop and electronically deliver a variety of service information types used to operate, maintain, and repair Caterpillar equipment. This information is based on complex research of product service requirements and must be completed in a timely, accurate manner. SIS is an SGML (ISO standard) based proprietary system that provides data intelligence by means of tagging content and structure that enables documents to be published electronically in the format specified by the engineer. Service information products that are produced by Service Information Developer 1s have a significant impact on the efficiency and profitability of dealer service operations.
Responsibilities:
Management, delivery, and business support of technical information across a subset of the Caterpillar portfolio of products and brands
Coordinate NPI programs with product groups to create and update NPI tracking for NPI
Support of both new and non-current product designs
Basic Qualifications :
Position requires a bachelor's or technical degree or 4+ years equivalent work experience (Service Information Development or technical writing)
4+ years of relevant experience
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
Top Candidates Will Also Have :
Experience with the SIS authoring environment
Mechanical aptitude or understanding of major components
Ability to read and understand engineering documents, blueprints, and graphics visualization
Capable of using a variety of complex systems/software to research product structures
Additional Information:
This position may require up to 10% domestic travel
This position will be in Peoria, IL
