Join Caterpillar as a Regional Category Procurement Manager for Hydraulic Components ! In this role, you'll lead the Earthmoving Supply Management (EMSM) North America Hydraulics category, driving continuous improvements in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM). You'll be the key liaison between Caterpillar and our regional suppliers, managing relationships and handling commercial discussions and negotiations. You'll also collaborate closely with Product Supply personnel in the region, ensuring seamless operations and effective communication. What You Will Do:
Drive Regional Strategy : Lead the execution of a regional category strategy that aligns with our global plan. Collaborate with the regional supply base to identify and address performance gaps, developing improvement plans based on specific metrics and targets.
Be the Expert : Serve as the go-to expert for the hydraulic components category in the region. Lead the execution of global category strategies, ensuring excellence in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM).
Team Leadership : Manage a team of 6-7 high-performing team of purchasing professionals, including Buyers, Supplier Development Engineers, and Supply Network Analysts. Ensure our supplier base meets QCLDM requirements for specific products.
Mentor and Develop : Develop, mentor, and train your team to deliver the regional supplier strategy, aligned with our global strategy. Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards and recognize and celebrate employee excellence.
Strategic Initiatives : Leverage your strong knowledge of products, NPI, and category strategies to support and participate in both category and divisional initiatives. Manage regional suppliers and subcontractors in line with our global organization.
Collaborative Environment : Work in a highly collaborative environment with the Earthmoving hydraulics and prime product design team, as well as across Caterpillar divisions, to align strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships.
What You Have (Basic Qualifications):
Degree/Experience: bachelor's degree in a technical or business curriculum OR demonstrated progressive experience in directly related roles.
Effective Communication : Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Business Intelligence : Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage business intelligence for strategic decision-making.
Supplier Management : Experience in managing supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery performance.
Top Candidates Will Have :
Technical experience with hydraulic components and systems.
Grasp the impact of governmental, environmental, political, and geographic factors on the supply base.
Solid background in lean manufacturing and a deep understanding of lean principles.
Excels at managing relationships and fostering strong connections. Prior supervisory experience, guiding teams to success.
Proven experience in negotiating contracts and agreements to achieve favorable outcomes.
Expertise in developing and implementing strategic sourcing plans to optimize supply chain efficiency.

25% domestic and international travel is expected.
