CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Provide specialist level Applications Engineering support to channel partners, distributors, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPCs) and end users

  • Provide optimal design selections based on customer requirements.

  • Assist with pre-sales efforts and specification development. Travel is required

  • Estimate project costing, negotiate lead times, and support negotiation of terms and conditions.

  • Collaborate with the purchasing team and other stakeholders to obtain costing for components as required

  • Actively provide technical leadership to the Application Engineering team and to other stakeholders

  • Support maintenance of CRM funnel to ensure opportunity visibility by sales team.

  • Continuously develop technical depth and understanding of Xylem products and applications.

  • Support submittal development

  • Collaborate with other technical and engineering groups to provide the required customer solution.

  • Proactively anticipate and mitigate risk

  • Provide timely responses to inquiries.

  • Meet or exceed established SLA and required metrics.

  • Be easy to do business with

  • Ability to work with ambiguity, manage multiple projects at once, and review technical documents and drawings.

  • Expected to be self-managing and self-leading

  • Expected to be resilient, and possess the capability for adaptive change

  • May represent Application Engineering in meetings

  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects.

  • Expected to present externally as an industry or discipline expert

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

  • 8 years+ related experience with rotating equipment preferred.

  • Specialist level knowledge of pump hydraulics, mechanics and construction

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Configure Price Quote (CPQ), and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools required

Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. Salary range:

$91,500.00 - $164,500.00
