The Doe Run Company is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the Operations Department at the Doe Run Buick Resource and Recycle Division (BRRD). The successful candidate will coordinate activities that support Doe Runs best business practices, and be part of a team that ensures the asset value of BRRD is maximized while staying true to Doe Run Culture and Values.Responsibilities:Manage teams that operate a battery breaking, separation and neutralization circuit, a reverberator furnace, a blast furnace, a mix and cast lead metal refinery, and all other supporting unit operations.Lead department Safety and Environmental performance of site Operations teams, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, support optimizing and complying with company policies.Sustain a quality work force for the site operations teams.Conduct timely performance reviews, and provide coaching and development opportunities for direct reports, manage succession planning for teams lead.Roll up an optimized departmental budget and forecast, and ensure teams operate within the forecast.Lead identification and implementation of changes to the business to support continuous improvement and expansion initiatives.Organize operations activities to optimally support peer divisions activities, including core business functions, and expansion project execution.Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:A Technical degree or accredited post-secondary education.At least 8-10 years of proven success leading a team of Managers or Supervisors to include providing strategic direction for multiple functions within operations.Experience partnering with maintenance to achieve results coupled with experience managing operations in a complex chemical processing environment is required.Demonstrated experience setting strategic direction and holding leaders accountable for execution.Experience developing and implementing Operational Systems and Processes.Experience managing budgets and forecasting business needs.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to identify opportunities and build systems for operational functionsStrong leadership dispositionAbility to effectively lead and mentor other leaders and operations teamsKnowledge of pyro metallurgy is a plusAbility to be on-call, work flexible schedulesStrong business and financial acumenWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and wet, humid, hot, or cold (non-weather) conditions. Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts and in confined spaces. Occasionally required to wear personal protective equipment, including but not limited to, fall protection, respirator, hearing protection, and eyewear.
