Job Summary:
The Caterpillar Switchgear department has an exciting opportunity for high school students to gain valuable experience in the manufacturing industry. This part-time, summer internship will afford you the ability to learn and develop valuable skills within a production facility. You will be responsible for maintaining adequate levels of material in designated areas to ensure efficient production processes.
What you will do :
Maintain and replenish materials from storage or work sites to designated areas
Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
Count, weigh, and record number of units of materials moved or handled as needed
Support the preparation of shipping finished goods to prevent shifting or damage in transit
Establish and maintain a safe, organized, and visually managed workplace conductive to lean production methodology
Gain exposure to holistic manufacturing process and production environment
Learn and support simple assembly projects
Conduct other duties and special projects as assigned
What you will have :
Be a current high school student between the ages of 16-18 years old
Knowledge of basic safety rules (safety gear will be provided)
Effective communication and teamwork skills
Have reliable transportation to and from the facility
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift at least 25bs. and up to 50lbs.

Pay & Shift :
$15 per hour starting pay
Schedule Parameters: Monday - Thursday, 5:00am-3:00pm working approximately 30 hours per week
Internship duration will be May 27, 2024 through August 4, 2024
