WZGC is entering its 10 th year as Atlanta's Sports Leader. Flagship home of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks and Atlanta Untied with Live and Local Personalities, WZGC covers the news of the NFL, NBA, MLS, MLB SEC, ACC and more.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
Responsible for the total supervision, direction, and overall performance level of all station news personnel functions, with specific emphasis on program coordination, mix, content, scheduling, budgeting and play-by-play broadcasts
Responsible for adherence and compliance to Company program standards and FCC regulations.
Establishes and communicates programming and content goals and vision, and then clearly measures their results.
Provides programming leadership in the role of developing creative solutions for station advertising client
Uses promotional strengths of the radio station to help achieve corporate goals.
Provides rating analysis and reporting.
Coach talent and measures performance of all department staff.
Establishes long range plans and a vision for daily content that entertains, informs and engages audiences both on-air and digitally.
Maintains on-going communications with external industry and public organizations including Atlanta area pro and college teams
Supervises use of any syndicated and/or outside services
Develop Entertainment and Sports events to enhance station's Marketing and Sales opportunities
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
More About You:
Required:
Minimum of5 years in radio sports programming leadership or Sports content development a must.
Must be self-motivated and possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
Knowledge of FCC rules, geographical demographics and familiarity with broadcast area required.
Experience with Professional and Collegiate Sports teams and with great knowledge of Atlanta and Georgia teams preferred.
Experience recruiting and coaching on-air and support talent a must.
Physical Requirement:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
