The End User Computing Engineer's role is to ensure the reliable operation, and overall health of ITW's Corporate fleet of end-user computing devices such as laptops, desktops and tablet computers. This is accomplished through the configuration and management of various software systems to assure devices are fully up-to-date and protected from Cyber threats at all times. In addition, this role is occasionally called on to provide 3rd/ 4th level support for reported issues with end-user devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operation of systems keeping end user computing devices up-to-date and protected from Cyber threats

  • Monitoring of overall end user device health, and mitigation of deviations

  • Management of computer system images including creation of images for new devices makes/ models and operating systems

  • Packaging of software applications, updates and configuration settings for deployment

  • Monitoring and remediation of reported Cyber vulnerabilities

  • Level 3 / 4 support for reported issues with end user devices

  • Escalate problems to other ITW resources, manager and/ or vendors when required

  • Assure issues within scope are addressed at agreed levels of throughput and quality

  • Alert management to emerging trends in incident reports

  • Identify automations to improve efficiency, reliability of services, and proactively resolve issues

  • Occasional work outside of normal business hours supporting ITW businesses located outside of Central US time zone

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preferred in the field of computer science and/or information technology

  • 4+ years equivalent work experience as a Service Desk technician generalist addressing incidents and requests spanning all areas in the scope of a Corporate IT Service Desk

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Endpoint Management ( EEM ) principles including asset/ patch deployment, endpoint protection, and vulnerability reporting/ mitigation in a Microsoft Windows environment

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/ 11 operating principles, configuration, and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM/ Cloud Management Gateway/ Intune/ Autopilot management

  • Experience with system image management using Microsoft MDT technology

  • Knowledge of application packaging & deployment in a mixed SCCM/ PatchMyPC environment

  • Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and associated features such as Group Policy

  • PowerShell scripting skills
