The candidate will be working within HNTB's Digital Innovation Group as a part of the Virtual Design and Construction team that focus heavily on the advancement of VDC and BIM for design, construction, and operations/maintenance for both Vertical and Horizontal project types. As part of this team, the VDC Specialist's primary duty is to advance the use of VDC and BIM for HNTB's Civil Engineering services and deliverables. This position requires the ability to work with other Technologists within the team to develop, implement, train and support VDC and BIM for Civil and Architectural, while leading VDC and BIM for Civil and Architectural efforts as needed to support projects of medium to large scope.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions will include:
Serves as the technical lead in the development and implementation of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technologies for all phases of a project (design, construction and operations/maintenance).
Has proven experience producing, leading and managing VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical services on complex civil infrastructure including; roads, bridges, rail, transit and aviation projects.
Assist project teams, as needed to ensure successful planning and execution of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical on their projects. This includes BIM Execution Plan Development, BIM Management, BIM Production, Training and Support throughout all phases for projects of both medium and large scope.
Assist HNTB clients in determining VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technology solutions that best meet their immediate and long-term needs. Meets with client and technology staff, as needed to define and document system requirements. Develops system configuration specifications, conceptual and logical workflow and business process diagrams for system development or customization.
Recommends enhancements or changes to HNTB technology, methodology and process standards. Interactively and incrementally improves HNTB deliverables and processes.
Is knowledgeable of and follows industry trends to ensure VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical technology efforts align with current and future needs of our clients, as well as within our HNTB project teams.
Assists in the development of VDC and BIM for horizontal and vertical project scopes, fees and proposals.

This opportunity entails being providing geospatial technology services to HNTB clients by using significant expertise to work on the most complex and impactful projects involving geospatial systems. Works independently developing, configuring, testing, implementing and maintaining geospatial systems. Leads projects of complex scope and may serve in a lead role for the team.
What You'll Do:
Viewed as an expert resource in geospatial technologies and application, provides mentoring, technical and design guidance to others. May coordinate the day to day work of the team.
Uses expertise in technologies to work on the most complex and impactful projects involving geospatial systems. Leads and manages all aspects of multiple strategic projects, actively managing budget and schedule, project communications and documentation.
Develops or customizes highly complex geospatial applications and interfaces using advanced programming tools and languages.
Develops project scopes, fees and proposals for review by management.
Leads meetings with clients and technology staff to define and document system requirements.
Stays abreast of changes in geospatial technology practices and recommends changes to technology, methodology and process standards, interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices/solutions.
Develops measures from data that can be used for continuous improvement of processes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Geography or other related degree
8 years related experience
In lieu of education, 12 years related experience
What We Prefer:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Geography or other related degree
Certified GIS Professional (GISP) or Professional Land Surveyor
