Overview

FTI is currently seeking an experienced, highly qualified Engineering Project Manager who will support Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in their mission to design, build, deliver and maintain ships, submarines, and systems reliably, on-time and on-cost for the United States Navy. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical oversight and leadership to civilian personnel in the functional areas of Program Management and Communications Strategy guidance.

The candidate will perform program coordination for engineering activities beginning to end, continuously engage with the customer and contract stakeholders, perform project data collection and distribution, and perform issue resolution. The candidate will create agendas and facilitate meetings that address gaps in project team development activities in the planning and execution stages of CNO Availabilities.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

- With extensive latitude for independent judgment and with little/no supervisions, support government leadership by providing guidance and direction for acquisition program management philosophy, policies, and procedures to systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles.- Provide advisory support and technical guidance for the development of technical engineering requirements, data analysis, project reports, and the coordination of system analysis and facilities.- Perform advisory analyses of diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS) issues and recommend suitable replacements.- Support the performance of technical engineering requirement actions associated with procurement, sustainment, modification, and performance of specific systems or subsystems, provide technical guidance, data analysis, and reports, and assist in the coordination of technical activities.- Support the identification of potential system support gaps marked for review/feedback or corrective recommendations by Life Cycle Managers (LCMs) in support of ship's transition to in-service operational status.- Support the customer on-site, as required, with experience working on the waterfront in a shipbuilding environment/locality- Lead technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, and other meetings as required.

Education/Qualifications

- U.S. citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance is required- Ability to travel to customer sites up to 25% of the time, per customer direction and need- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Logistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience on programs/projects supporting the Department of Defense- Recognized as a subject matter expert by government and civilian personnel in the area(s) of CNO Availability planning, execution and closeout- Exceptional Project Management and decision-making skills- Demonstrated diplomatic interpersonal communication skills that facilitate collaborative interactions with internal and external stakeholders (meeting facilitation)- Proven written and verbal communication skills that enable collaborations between internal and external customers- Champion of a continuous learning culture, demonstrated through ongoing professional development and employee mentorship- Working knowledge of DoD and NAVSEA policies, processes, and procedures as they relate to CNO availabilities and the acquisition lifecycle
