Job Description

Damuth Trane (Voted as one of the Best Places to Work in Virginia for 2022) is seeking a Project Coordinator for our Systems Solutions Sales Team in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Primary Role

Provide Damuth's 5-Star Experience to internal and external customers by meeting customer needs and commitments. Provide sales and project management support for Sales Engineers with the objectives of providing the highest quality customer service, accurate and timely project management, precise order-entry, and focused customer responsiveness. Coordinate and prioritize most daily activities with Sales Engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: *Other duties may be assigned.

Order Entry

  • Enter Trane orders accurately using Trane IOS system.

  • Ensure orders are processed and/or expedited as necessary and all special instructions are followed.

  • Create and maintain organized, detailed job files on all equipment and controls orders.

  • Work with Trane Financial Services and Trane Coordinated Jobs as needed to secure credit approval and discount pricing.

  • Ensure compliance

    Project Management

  • Coordinate equipment approval and delivery schedule with Trane Financial Services and Manufacturing Facilities (Business Units) to meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Continuously track orders to meet on-time delivery expectations. Communicate frequently and effectively - through written correspondence, emails, and phone calls - with customers regarding status of equipment, delivery schedule, and other vital information.

  • Develop relationships with Trane product marketing and vendors represented by Damuth to ensure customer satisfaction with product and service.

  • Acquire and provide requested quote to local customers on jobs bidding outside our territory.

  • Obtain information from legal contracts, purchase order documents, and subcontracts and forward to appropriate resources for review.

  • Assist Damuth Trane's Finance Department with securing payment for outstanding balances, updating financial processes, and providing accurate information for A/R and A/P.

    Education and Experience

  • Required - High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Strongly preferred - 2+ years' experience in Contracting, HVAC, or Construction Project Management

  • Required - Strong skills in Microsoft Office products

  • Required - Strong internet search skills

  • Required - Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, proportions, and percentages

  • Required - Strong interpersonal skills

  • Required - Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos

  • Required - Ability to comprehend new software systems, tools, and updates

  • Required - Valid driver's license and positive driving record

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This position will on occasion, require the associate to visit construction jobsites where noise could be excessive and PPE must be worn.
