Job Description:
The SATCOM Systems Engineering Services position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Systems Engineering. It presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of engineering professionals who collaborate closely to develop and solve complex system solutions for our end customers, particularly in support of mission-critical requirements. This position will communicate within and outside the engineering organization and influence changes to best practices, processes, policies, and engineering approaches.
The Engineer will work directly with internal technical peers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop requirements, implementi designs while also working with customers and associated sub-contractors. This role will impact supporting large, intricate project initiatives that hold substantial importance for the organization.
Essential Functions:
Support system level bill of material (BOM) development and maintenance of new and existing terminals and
Support generation of new drawings and documentation, as well as modify existing drawings and documentation; custom system configuration and overall system integration development per customer and program requirements.
design and development of system level interconnect diagrams and cable assemblies.
Direct manufacturing support of product line issues and root cause analysis, program and product engineering support.
Ability to navigate system level schematics, including board level interfaces.
Collaborate within large cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, electrical, test engineering, supply chain, manufacturing etc.) to achieve product line objectives.
Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders (ECO) and process engineering change requests (ECR) for SATCOM sustaining product lines.
Work with suppliers and supply chain to support part alternatives, obsolesce, and deviation requests.
Coordinate and own the technical schedule, cost evaluation/constraints, and program/customer requirements needs from beginning to end, including planning, schedule development, technical documents, verification and validation.
Provide input into new product development, processes, and engineering standards that shall impact the success of the SATCOM business.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, Software, or Systems Engineering and minimum 6 years of experience or Graduate degree and 4 years of experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
SATCOM product development experience from initial conception through design release and support of manufacturing readiness.
Knowledge of and experience working with SATCOM systems, both End-to-End and single terminal side, RF networking and systems, wired networking, MIL-STD data links, and modems. Common modem types with preferred experience are iDirect, Comtech, Linkabit MPMs, and Viasat.
Experience supporting new proposals or IRAD projects.
Experience and in-depth knowledge of project management.
Experience and familiarity working directly with vendors for design and technical support.
Experience in continuous improvement techniques such as Lean Six Sigma or similar.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Washington State and New York State is $89,000 - $165,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
