Global Rental, Service & Marketing (GRSM) is a part of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) segment. The Manager, Equipment Demand Planning (Rental) is responsible serving as a global expert and consultant for management of the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring that input and data are properly submitted by the established corporate time frame.
Responsibilities:
Position will lead meetings for Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and be the primary S&OP audit contact for related meetings. Position will also manage and be accountable for managing rental sales variance within established targets
Develop marketplace assumptions using available rental fleet and rental industry data that lead to alignment on the forecasted machine demand
Set agenda, prepare materials, and lead discussions for S&OP demand meetings, monthly business reviews (MBR), demand review and velocity review with responsibility for all Global Construction and Infrastructure (CGI) products that go into dealer rental fleets
Coordinate monthly S&OP and rental sales variance metrics reporting
Act as primary liaison in acquiring information for preparing monthly S&OP materials and charts in addition to providing recommendations for continuous S&OP process improvements
Provides continuous and effective communication among demand and supply, while maintaining and upkeeping the S&OP process
Serves as global rental S&OP go-to expert for answering questions, escalating issues, providing specific product analysis as needed, and making recommendations for improvements to the S&OP Advisory team
The position requires careful evaluation of problems and review of many possible solutions before selecting one option. Problems may be complex and can require the incumbent to develop multiple solutions. The incumbent is free to determine the best way to complete job assignments to achieve desired results
Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
5 (plus) years of progressively responsible job-related experience
Previous knowledge of GCI products and CAT dealer operations
Previous knowledge of engine products, product applications or merchandising programs
Good human relations skills to develop a cooperative working relationship with others inside and outside the department
The ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time
