Satellite Bus Systems SME
We are seeking bright, innovative and talented people to join our team of highly skilled professionals. This position is to provide System Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) support in a leading-edge SIGINT satellite systems program as a bus SME.The candidate must have previous experience with various classes to include small satellite bus development and integration and possess and apply systems engineering principles, theories, and concepts to support trades. The candidate will be the main satellite bus SME aiding the Government in overseeing the development of various buses in varying classes to satisfy mission requirements. The candidate will support the space vehicle hardware and software requirements development, design, manufacture, integration and test, and delivery to operations. The candidate will also support development of technical assessments to inform Government leadership and advocate for the program across the user community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee design, development, manufacture, integration and test, and delivery of satellite bus systems into operations
Review and assess progress of thermal, structural, attitude and controls, telemetry, propulsion, power and harness bus subsystems
Support data reviews, provide assessments of developer's progress towards meeting program cost, schedule, and performance goals
Develop risk assessments towards anomalies or failures
Participate in design reviews, manufacturing and test readiness reviews and deliver assessments for senior Government consideration
Understand Concept of Operations to support as-designed/as-built assessments
Participate in Failure Review Boards as applicable and delivery technical assessment
Provide timely assessments of program progress towards intended milestones
Qualification and Skills
Technical Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 10 years related work experience with emphasis on LEO Systems
Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties autonomously without supervision
Good written and oral presentation skills
Comfortable providing assessments to junior, mid-level and senior Government decision makers
Desired Qualifications and Skills
Master's Degree in a Technical Field
Small Satellite Development experience
Required Clearance
TS/SCI with a polygraph
Location/Travel Requirements
May require travel up to 20% of time within the continental United States
