This position is a Telework Role with opportunity to work in office at our Corporate Headquarters in Herndon, VA.
In this role, you will:
Provide and interpret information and guidance to employees and management on various HR related topics (e.g., analyze trends, develop solutions)
Identifies training needs for business units
Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
Support HR initiatives
Employee engagement and action planning and execution
Employee relations - conduct thorough and objective investigations and provide recommendations for closure
Maintain current knowledge of relevant human resources procedures and practices and relevant labor laws
Works closely with other HR functions such as Talent Acquisition, Benefits, Compliance and Compensation
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree in a related business discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, military, or work experience
7 years of related experience, such as HR Generalist or HR Business Partnering
Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM -SCP) preferred
Comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within own discipline and knowledge of others
Proactive approach in anticipating problems and driving opportunities
Think holistically about the strategy of the business and talent related processes, programs, and policies to support the business' goals
Demonstrated knowledge of employment law and experience providing HR support to both senior managers and front-line managers - ability to influence the aligned business unit or functional leader
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, communicates effectively - able to articulate ideas in a clear and persuasive manner. Develop insights from their business segments and developing action planning. Able to listen to the challenges of the business, challenge business leader assumptions, teach leaders about the talent implications of decisions and then present alternate explanations and ideas
To be comfortable with ambiguity and frequent change, able to synthesize a wide range of information and interested in collaborating with individuals throughout HR and the organization
The ability to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously, follow through
Demonstrated ability to evaluate data and metrics (including key HR performance indicators such as attrition, engagement, and recruitment data) to identify trends or issues and develop recommendations
Strong inductive and deductive reasoning skills, as well as creativity and innovation
Excellent computer skills in MS Office suite
