The position has responsibility for the global administration and enforcement of Caterpillar's Export Parts Policy (EPP), assisting dealers with Exporting and Servicing dealer business, and supporting Caterpillar's worldwide product support network. The position also manages Second Level Distribution (SLD) administration with global responsibility for SLD governance and process ownership in partnership with Caterpillar industry/commercial teams, Distribution Service Divisions (DSD's), and dealer partners.

JOB DUTIES:

Reporting directly to this position are Region Customer Service Managers, a Finance Manager, a Program Manager, and a Market Professional.

Major responsibilities include:

  1. Administer the Caterpillar Export Parts Policy (EPP) and support the CES Exporting Dealer business model. The incumbent understands the EPP and works with Cat dealers for compliance with the EPP and is responsible for training Cat dealer personnel and Caterpillar business partners. The position oversees the infringement claim process globally providing the necessary review & communication with dealers and Caterpillar partners.

  2. Support the CES Servicing Dealer business model. The incumbent works with dealers to support end-users in their respective trade zones by providing dealers with additional services/options to meet the needs of the end-users of Caterpillar equipment. The incumbent has a strong understanding of the Caterpillar distribution network and works directly with dealers and end-users to make parts sales under the CES Servicing Dealer business models.

  3. Manage Second Level Distribution (SLD) administration. SLD's serve as a complimentary distribution channel allowing for more efficient sales and/or service functions coverage with Caterpillar dealers under a defined Caterpillar program. The incumbent has SLD policy ownership with overall responsibility of program design, support, and system management across Caterpillar Dealers, SLD's, and Caterpillar commercial/industry as well as DSD business partners.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage CES's on-line registration process, Dealer Business System (DBS) and the required interfaces to corporate systems.

  • Manage SLD Management System, SLD Sales Force Community, and SLD reporting tools.

  • Maintain finance and accounting processes that meet generally acceptable accounting practices and Sarbanes Oxley standards.

  • Manage credit line approval, receivables management and country risk for customers buying direct from CES.

  • Ensure parts delivery performance. This includes aligning on performance standards with Caterpillar Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD) distribution centers and ensuring appropriate CES business models are in place globally.

  • Provide leadership to employees located in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.

  • Distribution of CES profit credits and Dealer Services Fees worldwide and SLD Redistribution Discount credit/debit processing.

  • Ensure EPP compliance, general export and trade compliance, and ensure CES abides by compliance policies set forth by other Caterpillar entities.

This position acts as an advisor and consultant to senior management working closely in conjunction with Legal Services and Compliance. The incumbent serves as a company-wide resource in a highly specialized area and assists senior management in interpreting and using information provided.

Typical internal customers include various contacts throughout Caterpillar and its subsidiaries, including Caterpillar executives. External contacts include upper management at Caterpillar dealers and contacts with various end-users who purchase parts from CES. The position often confronts complex issues or problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis.

Moderate travel required (10% - 20%)

Basic Requirements:

  • University Degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years' experience in either parts distribution or in an aftermarket sales/operations field role

  • 5+ years' direct leadership experience involving global teams/business partners and senior management

  • Deep understanding of parts distribution, export, and logistics compliance
