Overview

FTI is seeking a Field Services Engineer for Mission Voice Communications to support the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) on Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado. FTI provides range support services for ballistic and hypersonic test missions at DoD, NASA, and other agency ranges around the world. We cover mission planning, networks and systems engineering, telemetry, data and voice communications, logistics, and cybersecurity aspects of missile testing.

This position will require that you monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and update voice and data communications systems to meet mission requirements. You must be available to travel up to 50% and maintain a valid US Passport, as well as possess a current DoD SECRET level security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration, operation, maintenance, and support of mission voice systems from vendors such as Clear-Com and Compunetix including on-console support during test events

  • Routing of encrypted data between various ranges and sites

  • Administer systems running Windows and Linux operating systems

  • Accomplish pre-mission communication checks and voice instrument configuration verification

  • Maintain and update systems and patches to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) requirements

  • Work with engineers to implement design changes and test new solutions

  • Perform equipment installs, configuration updates, and troubleshooting actions at remote sites

  • Travel to land and sea-based locations. Trip durations are dependent on customer test mission schedules which can change with short notice, normally lasting between 2 and 4 weeks. Total trips per year are also dependent on customer schedules, and average between 4 and 8

Education/Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining communications systems is required

  • 1+ year of experience performing network, Windows, and/or Linux administration in an enclave or enterprise environment is required

  • Current Security+ or similar certificate qualifying you for DoD Directive 8570.01 IAT Level II is preferred

  • Current Computing Environment certificate for Window, Linux, or networking is preferred

  • Experience with MS Office and MS Visio is preferred

  • Prior Help Desk or other direct user support service is preferred

  • Prior US Military service with field deployment experience is preferred

  • Familiarity with DoD test ranges is preferred

  • Previous experience making recommendations, and garnering consensus to implement ideas is preferred
