Microsoft Consumer Sales Organisation (CSO) works across all Microsoft products and services sold to Consumers, under 2 Microsoft Solution Areas Gaming covering Xbox Hardware and Services and Devices and Creativity covering Surface, Office and Windows. The CSO team partners with internal and external customers alike with the goal of maximizing revenue, market share, and mutual profit ensuring the highest ethics and compliance in any action.

CSO Finance is a truly global finance team highly engaged in developing its talent and have them evolve in a moving environment. CSO Finance spans all finance functions; we span working with Marketing to drive our product categories, with Supply and Ops to ensure we have the right product in the right places, Sales to understand our Partner Account mechanics and Channel Strategy, manage the organisation's Rhythm of the Business (RoB) and are custodians of the profit & loss (P&L). We chart our Growth path in existing businesses and in net new areas for the company, whilst prioritizing creating a more Inclusive Microsoft across our products, our culture and our marketing and every customer engagement.

The Worldwide Devices & Creativity Financial Planning Accounting Controller role is an opportunity to be at the heart of a dynamic business at a critical point of evolution. You will play an instrumental role in orchestrating financial processes and business insights, identifying and critically assess investment opportunities optimizing between margin & share to drive profitable sustainable growth engines and shape the landing of our Worldwide (WW) strategy. You will work with diverse teams in matrix organization influencing Regional, WW CSO and Engineering Groups teams. Prioritize

  • Drives the Rhythm of the Business (RoB) for the CSA, managing key processes, timelines, consolidating outcomes.

  • Consolidating the Worldwide (WW) story, performs and reviews analysis of present and future financial performance, financial plans (e.g., expected returns, resource allocation, pricing, investment opportunities) and economic transactions (e.g., customer deals, commercial partnerships, acquisitions, etc.).

  • Prepares and summarizes recommendations.

  • Works both across regions and directly with business partners to translate top-down targets to an accountable budget for each group.

  • Completes and reviews analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles. Partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders.

  • Partners across teams to deliver results, tracking performance, report accuracy, and partnering with business leaders to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

  • Manages the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting. Generates relevant and actionable insights to drive the business forward.

  • Develops and leverages relationships with customers and partners to bolster sales, and to understand and manage business risk. Collects customer feedback data and applies data analysis techniques to improve customer experience.

  • Builds relationships with customers at executive levels.

  • Designs and negotiates solutions to complex financial issues with customers. Engages with customers and partners on their wider relationships with Microsoft.

  • Serves as advocate for Microsoft and its customers.

  • Understands customers' businesses to plan growth.

  • Manages balance between customer centricity, enablement of sales, and cost effectiveness.

Partnership

  • Shares business insights and advances solutions and action plans to drive business and commercial leader goals and short-term accountabilities.

  • Provides credible insights into industry benchmarks and consumer trends, performance improvements, and growth. Facilitates to resolve complex issues.

  • Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Applies understanding of the broader Microsoft context to offer solutions to ensure organizational objectives are met.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field

  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles

  • Ability to drive the transformation

  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and explain business results

  • Experience and comfort presenting to Executive Management

  • Organization skills and the ability to manage multiple and competing tasks/priorities

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in complex environments.

Financial Analysis IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,200 - $194,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $142,200 - $213,200 per year.
