Summary You will serve as a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Material Department of the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, USN, Gulf Coast (SUPSHIPGC) of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE. Responsibilities You will The Platform Manager serves as final authority to the Site Director/Material Officer and the Deputy Site Director/Material Officer on all ILS technical and management matters. You will conduct program management reviews for complex weapons systems in the design and the supportability of Navy, Army, Military Sealift Command, Foreign Military Sales and Coast Guard projects. You will be responsible for overall coordination, planning, and integration of the various logistics elements to ensure that the most effective and economical support are identified and implemented to ensure logistics requirements are met. You will keep abreast of new technology and changes which will have a significant impact on workload, resources, and processes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Logistics Management Specialist specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and concepts to plan, coordinate and support ship construction, conversion, overhaul and repair, test, trials, and delivery. Specialized experience involves (1) identifying the specific requirements involved in contract administration, ship acquisition, logistics support, configuration management, and engineering, and (2) correlating those requirements with program plans to assure that the needed support is provided at the right time and place. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Providing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and technical services in the areas of administrative, Information Technology (IT), financial, and contractual requirements in support of US Naval Ships or vessels; 2) Provide acquisition planning and control in support of ship class life cycles for overall readiness and sustainability; 3) Evaluation of shipbuilder performance to contract requirements in diversified areas of material handling, equipment installation, configuration management, supply support and ILS; 4) Utilize weapon systems to ensure equipment supportability throughout the life cycle.
