Global Rental, Service & Marketing (GRSM) is a part of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) segment. GRSM is comprised of Global Rental & Used Equipment Services, Global Service and Global Marketing & Brand. A primary role of GRSM is to support and enhance Caterpillar's dealer network, which is a competitive strength and the critical way in which we serve our customers.

The Service Training Instructor will develop technical training material, delivers service training classes on systems or products to meet worldwide service training needs for the Caterpillar dealer network, customers, and Caterpillar training centers. Leads and manages projects and collaborates with business units and marketing units to identify technical training needs.

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

. Promotes and leads safe and lean work practices

. Professional development to complete the OATS (Observe/Assist/Team/Solo) process, complete the Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program (CIAP I) within 6 months in the role

. Partner with GDL Instructors to job shadow in the field

. Develops and delivers technical content, learning solutions related to different industries

. Collaborates with internal partners to follow GDL standards regarding course development and delivery

. Work with instructional designers and SMEs to develop course material and assessments

. Leads and manages projects to be completed on time and within budget

. Negotiates with approved suppliers to obtain goods and services

. Work with product groups to meet current strategies, initiatives, and goals

. Performs/coordinates routine maintenance for lab equipment and perform lab equipment updates

Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Training Operations: Knowledge of training processes and procedures; ability to implement training related tasks and programs to ensure smooth daily and strategic training operations.

Basic Requirements:

. 3+ years of experience as a technician, and/or instructor, and/or technical support, or related experience

. Experience in Caterpillar engines as a technician

. Experience in public speaking

. Professional written and verbal communication skills in English (Spanish is a plus)

. Must be willing to travel up to 30% of working time (international travel)

Top candidates will also have :

. Technical experience with Caterpillar products in different industries, such as Marine, or Oil and Gas, or Industrial

. Product experience: Diesel engines, gas engines, dual fuel engine systems, transmissions, marine control systems, and electric motors for gas compression

o Pre-delivery Inspection

o Component Remove & Install

o Component Disassemble & Assemble

o Preventive Maintenance

o Technical Analysis Level 1

. Experience speaking effectively before large multi-cultural audiences

. Experience in parts (Aftermarket)

. Knowledge in After failure Analysis
