Overview

Audacy is looking for an innovative, results-oriented and passionate leader to build and scale our AdTech services team.The Director of AdTech Platform will be a hands-on engineering lead that owns the definition, development and delivery of services necessary for providing a robust streaming services and capabilities, that integrates custom development with externals services. Additionally, the Director of AdTech Platform will be responsible for participating in the selection and management of vendors to accelerate business initiatives and provide value.

The successful candidate will have a fully-rounded knowledge of successfully developing and delivering organizational and business value solutions. In addition to working effectively in a fast paced multi-disciplinary, multi-team culture.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

  • Build and lead the AmperWave AdTech platforms team, that will consist of Full Time, Consultants/Contractors and Vendors

  • Work with business and product stakeholders to determine the best solutions, and timelines

  • Heavily participate in ideation, creative problem solving, and driving initiatives forward

  • Work closely with teams in Technology and Digital engineering and across the organization to make sure product and technology visions are met

  • Build and Coach your team, to be able to support multiple business initiatives.

  • Be a contributor to the Overall Streaming Engineering Platform vision

  • Evaluate vendors against current business initiatives, and future directional initiatives.

  • Work closely with operational and supporting teams

  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture

Qualifications

More About You:

Required:

  • Expertise in developing complex distributed systems in AWS, capacity planning experience a plus

  • Understanding of Ad Tech standards and signaling

  • Experience in audio and video codecs: AAC, AC-3, h.264 is a plus

  • Experience with audio & video streaming formats: HLS, DASH, Icecast is a plus

  • Knowledge of dynamic ad insertion (DAI) technologies: audio ad insertion tags, ESAM, SCTE 35, SCTE 130, VAST and other IAB standards

  • Experience in hiring and managing teams (both full time and Consultant/Contractor)

  • Familiarity with media streaming protocols and validation tools (RTMP, HLS, ffmpeg, Liquidsoap)

  • Hands-on experience with multiple development languages; C#, C++, node.js a plus

  • You have solid experience working in an agile development environment

Preferred:

  • Experience building high performance services, to support both mobile and web clients.

  • Experience making build vs buy decisions.

  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high-quality software together with them

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
