Job Description:
If you like being on the forefront of product development and improvement, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the team at our facility in Aurora, IL as a Configuration Designer (CAD). Caterpillar enjoys the strongest reputation in the industry, and, in this critical role, you will help to continue this tradition by leveraging your unique skillset as a CAD technical specialist to provide expert system support to integration engineers and systems design teams working on innovations and continuous improvement projects for current and future Caterpillar products.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining the machine 3D geometry in Creo and JT format in Teamcenter
Supporting the Integration Engineer by implementing their Bill of Material instructions in the 3D model, and the System Design Teams by compiling their system geometry into the machine level model
Completing quality checks to ensure the visual data accuracy, and report issues to owning teams for resolution
Facilitating and following-up on the resolution as required until it is completed
Releasing the top-level bill of material to the machine model in accordance with the project master BOM file
Working on additional projects as expert in Creo, VisView and TeamCenter
Projects may include but are not limited to: Price List Visualization, Parts Book Visualization, Simplified Dealer 3D Models, VPPA/Mach-1 Model Cleanup, trade dress development, and regulatory films (decals) development.
Basic Qualifications:
Associates Degree (or higher) in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a similar field
Fluency in 3D design software
Preferred Qualifications:
1 or more years of directly applicable experience
Previous experience in manufacturing/construction equipment/automotive industry
Enthusiasm for CAD systems
Ability to manage high volume of details
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize workload from multiple sources
