Position Description
Are you ready to contribute your planning and Defense Travel System (DTS) skills to a fast-paced environment with high visibility work requiring a qualified, stable, and experienced staff? Our customer is tasked with developing, testing, procuring, fielding, and maintaining the FLRAA Weapon System with First Unit Equipped (FUE) scheduled for 2030.
Serco will provide Engineering, Logistics, and Acquisition and Strategic Planning Services to support the of Future Long Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) Project Management (PM) Office. The primary place of performance is Redstone Arsenal, Alabama or authorized virtual work location. Specifically, services will support the Program Planning & Control (PP&C) Division.
You will be joining a team of 25-40 full-time, highly experienced, and qualified acquisition, logistics and engineering professionals led and managed by Mr. Dave Schairbaum, who previously led the Air Force Combat Rescue Helicopter (CRH) development program as Program Director.
In this role, you will:
Assist with overall DTS administration for the organization
Create and finalize travel arrangements for government program managers and senior leaders
Serve as a primary point of contact to initiate, modify, and resolve travel plans, including adjusting existing travel arrangements
Provide extensive knowledge of policies regarding government travel, including booking with contract fares when possible, and serve as an office technician to respond to any travel-related inquiries
Provide general administrative support as needed, including calendar management for government clients to between events, send and accept meeting invites, and coordinate visit requests
Acquire and update personnel data that will be used to establish traveler profiles in DTS
Maintain updates to DTS when changes occur due to personnel actions within the organization
Receive and review authorizations and vouchers in the system
Screen and/or verify all receipts. Ensure requests for payment are complete & accurate
Report problems to the Travel Assistance Center and follow up on fixes. Remain current on all DTS changes
Provide users with one-on-one knowledge and help on basic travel questions and utilization of DTS
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
An active Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in business, management, human resources, or relatable field of study
3-years task experience in project office operational support (administration, defense travel system), preferably for federal programs
Knowledge of the Defense Travel System (DTS)
Knowledge of the Federal Travel Regulation (FTR)
Additional desired experience & skills:
Ability and willingness to support full-time on-govt site support
Ability and willingness to support full-time, regular-recurring, and/or situational Telecommuting
Knowledge of transportation regulations with respect to travel procedures, restrictions, and allowances
Knowledge of accounting classification codes and reconciliation procedures with DTS
Knowledge of installation and Government travel card policy, higher headquarters policy, DOD Financial Management regulations, the Government cardholder agreement, cardholder program, and web-based travel card program
Experience in coordination across teams and staff functions
