Overview
We are seeking a motivated, energetic Principal Program Manager to contribute to the success of the Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III and Large Solid Rocket Motor (LSRM) programs. This position reports to the Aerojet Rocketdyne Defense Production Act (DPA) Title III Program Director. The selected individual will function as the point of contact between the program, functional managers, the customer, subcontractors, cross sector groups and other stakeholders to execute projects, resolve issues, monitor performance to schedule and budget. Will also develop and win new business.
Essential functions
Function as the point-of-contact between the program, Functional Management, the Customer, subcontractors, cross-sector groups, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts to ensure successful resolution of program issues.
Responsible for briefing internal and external customers, as well as upper management, on all aspects of the program.
The PM directs the work of functional employees in the execution of the assigned projects while establishing and monitoring performance to schedules, plans and milestones. The selected individual must set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
The PM will be responsible for developing and maintaining baselines for suppliers, ensuring these baselines support the overall program performance.
The PM will also assist in developing and winning new business in cooperation with Business Development.
The selected candidate must be able to support frequent travel to work sites in Camden Arkansas, and Orange Virginia, travel 25%-50%.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience, or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
EVMS experience
Ability to obtain a US government security clearance
Experience managing cross-functional teams
Experience managing subcontractors and/or suppliers
Experience managing capital expenditures
Ability to support multiple efforts and changing priorities
Desirable qualifications
PMP certification
Experience with strategic missile programs (Trident, Minute Man, Sentinel, NGI, etc)
Active DoD Security clearance
Proven team player with the ability to work effectively with others; has outstanding customer relationship skills and demonstrated professionalism.
