JOB SUMMARY
This position is for a Southern Company Technology Organization (TO) End User Analyst, II that will partner with Southern Company Services (SCS) and related operating companies to provide technology consulting to business partners to deliver automated or enhanced technological solutions based on the business partner's personal use of technology.Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to educate and train business partners on the use of Southern Company standard products and services. Provides project coordination on technological projects for business partners. This position provides support to business partners located at the various locations of Alabama Power Company's (APC) Eastern Division. Locations include Anniston, Dadeville, Gadsden, Pell City, Talladega, Sylacauga.
Education
Two-year degree in a Technology-related field or equivalent military and/or work experience is required.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field is preferred.
Major Responsibilities
Proactively provide consulting that includes technology needs assessments, potential solutions, and automation opportunities.
Partner with the business and other TO departments for incident and problem resolution.
Provide specialized dedicated technical support as requested by business partners.
Proactively identify opportunities to educate business partners on leveraging the use of technology more effectively.
Provide project management, planning, coordination, and/or technical support during project implementations.
Build effective relationships with key business partners and provide outstanding customer service.
Partner with fellow TO End User Analysts, TO Planning Analysts, Application Portfolio teams, and other TO groups to form a strong, dedicated support team.
Consult with business partners to ensure a full understanding of technology costs of TO products and services (for budgeting and billing purposes).
Partner with other TO personnel to provide support (including after-hours as needed) for storm-related and critical 24/7 business operations.
Provide technical support and consulting for executives and their directs.
Is a SME (Subject Matter Expert) for related technology tools and applications.
Stay abreast of emerging hardware and software technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient technical knowledge of office computing environments including PC hardware, Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft 365 suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and infrastructure as well as their interaction and relevance in solving business problems.
Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of business operations to pinpoint potential areas for automation, leveraging Microsoft Office 365 tools including Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, among others, to enhance process efficiency.
Ability to learn and employ Nexthink Query Language (NQL) to construct queries and dashboards, enabling in-depth data analysis and incident investigations.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with business partners, vendors and other TO organizations.
Developed effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
Customer service focused with the ability to deliver on commitments and deadlines.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of existing and emerging information technologies.

Working knowledge of electric and natural gas utility industry and Southern Company is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years related experience providing technology hardware and software deployment, troubleshooting, and problem resolution to end users.

Other Requirements
Must be able to pass North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) critical infrastructure protection (CIP) background check and requirements.
Routine travel between field sites necessitates a reliable personal vehicle. All company related travel is covered by mileage reimbursement.
This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position:
Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).
Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
