Job Summary
As Vice President, Lean, you will report to the Group President of the Resource Industries business segment and will drive the lean strategy and execution plans for the enterprise. Lean impacts 100% of total corporate revenue by supporting enterprise goals through improvements across the extended product value stream (EPVS); including processes in all manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas. Lean methodology focuses specifically on the priorities of Built in Quality (BIQ), Right part Right time (RPRT), Shortening Lead Times (SLT), Capital Utilization (CU), and Manpower Utilization (MU).
Your Team
You will lead a team of approximately 50 professionals who will lead revolutionary change across the enterprise by diagnosing complex business problems and providing recommended treatment plans to accelerate business improvements using the Caterpillar Lean Methodology.
What You Will Do:
Lean 6 Sigma learning and deployment . You will be accountable for enterprise Lean deployment, and ensure Lean activities are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and enterprise business strategies. Incumbent will report results to Caterpillar's Executive Office.
Global Quality . You will facilitate team management and executive engagement to support enterprise standard processes and tools for dealer, field and factory defect reporting, and related metrics, Quality Data Lake administration, problem solving tools including CPI and related databases. You will ensure product quality target cascades, allocation of defects and warranty to accountable metrics. You will support BIQ and related enterprise quality functions, ISO compliant quality policy, training, internal audit and certifications. You will ensure external quality organization engagement including AIAG, ISO/TS, DNV, and Gartner.
You will work to achieve long-term policies that impact a large portion of corporate revenue.
You will lead the corporate strategy to define, develop, improve, and embed lean across the worldwide enterprise, including processes in manufacturing, product development, and other functional areas (i.e., human resources, procurement, logistics, finance, information systems, etc).
You will lead the development for process enablement through common design of systems to drive convergence and simplicity of Lean principles and processes throughout the enterprise.
You will act as an advisor or consultant to senior management and may serve as a company-wide resource on highly specialized area or serve multiple units in a broader functional area and assist senior management to interpret and use provided information.
You will provide support for the full engagement of business unit leadership teams, helping to drive the needed cultural changes to achieve sustainable lean capabilities.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Engineering or Business
Demonstrated outstanding leadership and experience leading in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated measurable results using Lean principles in a manufacturing environment
Highly Proficient in Root Cause and Corrective Actions, BIQ, Quality Management System and implementing improvements
Extraordinary project management and team leadership skills
Extraordinary communication and technical problem-solving skills
Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically
Ability to build strong, sustainable partnerships across the enterprise
Ability to lead Enterprise initiatives to directly improve customer value
Extraordinary project management and team leadership skills
Advanced interpersonal/communication skills
Demonstrated Lean coaching skills
Top Candidates may also have:
Master's degree in Engineering or Business
Minimum 10 years experience in Operational Leadership with proven leadership skills in managing large scale manufacturing or transactional processes
Experience leading a global team, (Leader of Leaders)
Global experience / travel to visit overseas facilities or business units
Cross-functional knowledge and experience in multiple functional areas:
Manufacturing / Operations (machining, fab, assembly)
Supply Chain

The ideal location for this role will be location in Irving, TX or Peoria, IL.
