As the Technical Product Manager within the Digital Experience Engineering Marketing team, you will be at the forefront of accelerating VMware's SaaS Transformation and achieving VMware's strategic priority to operate as a consumption-obsessed SaaS company. Be part of the Digital Experience Engineering Marketing team responsible for accelerating digital transformation of VMware's Go to Market (GTM), Customer experience, and Analytics by providing technical leadership to implementing scalable technical solutions for the critical business initiatives.

This role is at a unique intersection of product management, business strategy and technical execution and would provide you a great platform for career growth into a product leadership role.

Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

  • Create and manage execution plans from user story development to release for each product delivery cycle, paying close attention to critical path items, prioritization based on outcomes, and resource availability

  • Leverage your technical knowledge and understanding of SaaS and Subscription business models, having implemented related programs to proactively identify risks/issues and driving towards resolution

  • Partner with key business stakeholders and product management to define operational metrics for every capability delivered ensuring they are measurable and tracked in a scalable manner.

  • Develop an approach and process to monitor, assess and remediate issues after every release for continuous improvement

  • Become a trusted advisor for the product team helping to anticipate and remove roadblocks, identifying and tracking dependencies, facilitating meetings

  • Leverage your budding negotiation skills to help the product team move the plan forward

  • Expand your domain knowledge across all operations teams to understand who does what at VMware

  • Connect and build relationships across VMware that will help the product team and program deliver outcomes faster

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

You will:

  • Use your technical background in enterprise platforms, software and/or applications to define and drive product strategy, identifying key outcomes and success metrics

  • Use your domain experience in Marketing Technology, Partner Management, Deal management and subscription lifecycle management to collaborate with the team to discover customer problems and create valuable, desirable and feasible solutions

  • Drive VMware's multi-year strategy for your respective domain, spearheading key initiatives and driving cross-functional alignment and progress

  • Deeply understand, document, analyze, and synthesize user needs into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed specifications

  • Engage with multiple business stakeholders to ensure clear and concise documentation of planned features as epics and user stories

  • Collaborate with engineering, business operations and data analytics teams to ship new, impactful platform capabilities that accelerate our time to value

  • Drive collaboration with your team by facilitating workshops and activities, aligning team members on project outcomes, bringing clarity where there is ambiguity, and keeping everyone aligned throughout delivery

  • Identify critical assumptions, define experiments, measure success metrics, and use data to inform decisions

  • Utilize data analytics, research, product reviews, user feedback and product testing to ensure consistency and quality across all end user features

  • Understand the customer journey for enterprise software and incorporate industry standards and best practice into your product

  • Collaborate with product line managers on cross-domain initiatives; track and mitigate product risks

  • Influence and drive continuous improvement of product/solution development lifecycle process, practices, and initiatives.

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

This role will be reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, Marketing Technology, who is responsible for the Marketing Ecosystem and drives the technical side of transformational business programs. The team structure is flat with access to all the leaders and their teams. We expect you to take advantage of this diverse work culture to develop yourself into a senior technical member who will execute future state technical vision with end-to- end ownership.

Where is this role located?

This role can be performed from Western North America (Central, Mountain, or Pacific Time Zones), allowing you the flexibility to work from the location you feel most productive and comfortable.

This job may require the candidate to travel and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry.
