Job Summary:
Responsibilities include overseeing, communicating, and assisting with the implementation of remediation, emergency response, and waste related environmental programs, guidelines, and compliance strategies for company business units and facilities. This position has direct responsibility and oversight for manifesting, shipping and disposal of all waste generated through the spill response and substation remediation process. This position also provides feedback to contractor foreman on effectiveness of the implementation of contractual obligations. Position expected to interface with regulatory inspectors and the public as encountered during field activities.
Specifically, this position has direct oversight for contractors responsible for sample media collection affiliated with emergency spill response and substation remediation. Additional responsibilities include contract reviews, prepares reports, and communicates findings with clients, as well as training for applicable business units and assistance with Storm Emergency Restoration Preparation (SERP).

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Familiarity with and/or ability to learn and interpret environmental regulations/requirements and company policies including Georgia Solid Waste Management, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Georgia Hazardous Waste Management Act, Substation Sampling and Analysis Plan, and Emergency Spill Response
Manage contractors for the implementation of emergency spill response
Manage contractors for the implementation of substation remediation and retirement projects
Assist with substation intrusive sampling field activities
Manage network underground vault sampling and retirement program
Provide project schedules and direct invoice reconciliations
Maintain appropriate spill response supplies and equipment to assure timely response
Develop partnerships with all levels of business unit to ensure compliance with spill response and substation remediation
Provide accurate recording and reporting of technical and administrative data
Support the Company's environmental policies in all areas, including environmental stewardship initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Familiar with applicable environmental laws and regulations specifically related work experience in substations, spill clean-up, PCB and asbestos management preferred.
Basic knowledge of relevant state and federal environmental regulations, direct experience working with substation sampling, emergency response clean-up, and soil remediation.
Ability to synthesize technical information and communicate in a manner suitable for technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain a flexible schedule which may include non-traditional hours and travel.
Judgment skills necessary to make decisions based on procedural review with management.
Project and contract management including management of 3 rd party services providers
Familiar with GIS Mapping

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
3 to 5 years' experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: environmental compliance, contractor oversight, substation sampling and remediation
Experience in working with interdisciplinary teams.
. Experience with environmental regulations related to remediation and emergency response clean-up requirements.
. Experience working in substations
. Working knowledge of Distribution, Transmission, or Generation operations is a plus
. Experience in waste characterization, transport, and disposal, as well as emergency spill response and clean-up
. Professional License or Certification in related area is a plus
