We have an opportunity for a highly motivated professional whose work will reflect Instron's commitment to total customer satisfaction. Working from our Ann Arbor office the AFSE will be responsible for traveling to customer sites to perform a variety of services including maintenance, repair, and installation, on a wide range of Instron's servo-hydraulic structural testing products. The AFSE does so in a manner consistent with Instron's mission statement and is expected will protect and promote Instron's premium image, product design philosophy, and accreditations.

The AFSE will maintain an exceptional attitude and appearance and focus on the continuous improvement of his or her technical abilities and overall delivery of service. Primarily, the AFSE performs verification and preventative maintenance on basic systems.

As an AFSE you will be responsible for working within a team environment to understand the main systems assemblies and sub-assemblies including their electrical, PLC, and mechanical software interconnections in order to provide direct support on site or telephone support to customers.

The AFSE will interface with senior team members and headquarters communicating necessary information in order to provide accurate and timely information to customers with regards to support requests, spare parts, upgrade requests, and additional service requests.

The AFSE may travel to company international locations for training and other support work.

You will be provided with a company vehicle, appropriate tools/equipment, including a laptop computer and smartphone, and the assurance that you have the support of well-established and growing service operation. Overnight travel is expected to be about 50%, including multiple weeks for installation work.

Successful applicants will have a technical AS degree or equivalent military/trade training, preferably with some experience, planning and performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electromechanical and/or servo-hydraulic systems. A broad based knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic systems, PLC automation, as well as a familiarity with PC's including operating systems and Windows applications, is also essential.
