This is a senior level tax accountant position that handles all aspects of the property tax cycle for multiple business units with varied business models. In this role you will be responsible for accurately and timely preparing state and local separate company and centrally assessed state unit value property tax returns. This position reviews assessment notices for potential valuation differences and initiates appeal discussion with the property tax assessors. You will also perform research analysis, files tax abatement and incentives requests, and responds to notices from tax authorities. This position includes preparing budgets for estimated tax liability, preparing journal entries, and completing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations. The position includes the timely processing and payment of property tax bills. The Senior Accountant will also be charged with providing support to the other accountants on the team as well as assisting in creating, standardizing, and implementing new processes and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business required.
Must have 5-7 years of accounting, finance or tax experience.
MS Excel - advanced proficiency
MS Word - intermediate proficiency
Solid time management skills
Preferred Skills:
3+ years property tax experience in a large accounting firm or large public company environment
Experience working in the public utility, energy, manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, airlines, logistics industries.
Proficiency with tax research software (ie; LexusNexus, Checkpoint, CCH) preferred.
IPT CMI -Property Tax designation
CPA
Oracle, PeopleSoft, PowerPlan experience
