Job Description

Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/CUSTSPT) of NAVSUP FLEET LOGISTICS CENTER NORFOLK. Responsibilities You will be responsible for ensuring that information processed, stored or transmitted by Command information systems is adequately protected with respect to confidentiality, integrity, availability and privacy. You will plan, implement, and manage a comprehensive IA program to ensure all computer systems and networks under Command purview are approved, operated, and maintained per DOD Information Technology Risk Management Framework (RMF). You will direct and oversee the information security incident response program. You will provide oversight, technical support, and interpretation of DOD, Navy, and NAVSUP Information Technology (IT) policies and procedures for Next Generation (NGEN) contract execution. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: . I have one year of experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4.Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices sufficient to provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, as well as interpret IT policies, standards, and guidelines. Examples of specialized experience include the following: 1) Applying a wide range of information security policies and protocols further enabling the protection of the entire network infrastructure; 2) Applying a wide variety of applications, operating system, protocols, and equipment used in customer organizations sufficient to provide advice, assistance and/or direction to customers; 3) Utilize a comprehensive knowledge of the characteristics of computer hardware and software systems, ensuring hardware and software services meet network security standards; 4) Applying methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security tools, procedures, ensuring compliance with IT security requirements.
