PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) Senior Business Manager, Internal Audit at our Tysons, Virginia location. The primary purpose of this job is overseeing and managing all administrative aspects of the department. This role involves providing operational support, managing resources, and ensuring smooth functioning of the Audit Services Department. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Provide administrative leadership and support to the Audit Services Department, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to policies and procedures.
Oversee the department's budget, expenses, and resource allocation, optimizing resource utilization while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Coordinate and manage the scheduling and logistics of audit engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
Prepare governance reports and metrics for senior management, supervisory committee, and the Board of Directors highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Maintain and update departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal auditing standards, and industry best practices.
Manage and maintain central audit documentation and records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with record retention policies and internal auditing standards.
Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies, facilitating audit requests and ensuring timely provision of required information.
Collaborate with IT and other relevant departments to ensure the availability and effectiveness of audit-related systems, tools, and technologies.
Facilitate the recruitment, training, and development of audit department staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement.
Maintain documentation and reporting for audit recommendations in the centralized issues management platform. Prepare reports on overdue issues and initiate reminders to audit teams to engage with stakeholders prior to high-risk issues coming due.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to administrative functions in the internal audit domain.
This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.
Qualifications
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.
At least ten (10) years of experience in an administrative or chief of staff role, preferably within the internal audit function of a banking or financial institution.
Strong knowledge of internal audit operations, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Previous experience with a Governance, Risk, Controls (GRC) platform is preferred; experience with Archer desirable, but not required.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
Proficient in using productivity tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, project management software).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Knowledge of banking products, processes, and systems is desirable but not required.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.
Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
