The Plant Services team is looking for a positive professional that can work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting. The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key member of the Plant Engineering project management team. The individual will assist the team with managing outside contractors and monitoring the performance of services rendered. They will also update facility drawings, work with technicians to update Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, and track facility preventative maintenance. The Manufacturing Engineer role is an entry level position that reports to the Production Project Manager.
Essential Functions:
Support Production Project Manager with facility related improvements and repairs
Coordination of external contractors and internal maintenance support resources as needed
Ensure alignment with the appropriate service companies based on cost, reliability, quality and safety.
Coordinate, arrange, and supervise the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance actions in accordance with operational needs and financial considerations
Develop, implement, and review plant equipment records
Establish procedures and contacts to ensure timely preventive repair of plant equipment
Secure equipment bids and make recommendations for purchase when replacement or new equipment is required
Must be adept at analyzing facts and issues. Identify options, and able to decide and recommend a course of action
Evaluate short- and long-term needs in relation to facility projects and property improvements including coordination of contractors
Create and maintains facility drawings and documentation
Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices for issuing safe work permitting.
Evaluate risks associated with LOTO processes & develop and maintain safe manufacturing protocols/procedures
Ensure process engineering standards/procedures are met during development, design & construction phases of a project
Perform various functions, working collectively & collaboratively with other Manufacturing Engineers, Operations, Safety, and Maintenance personnel to provide support regarding various facility-related systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, Associates degree, or pursuit of related degree within field of study required (2-5 years of experience preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Applications and in drawing related software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks)
Strong computer aptitude and ability to easily navigate and learn new software (LOTO, CMMS software, Sharepoint, etc)
Strong written/verbal communication skills; good listening skills; a team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the company and who is sensitive to cultural differences.
Knowledge of facility systems and preventative maintenance systems
Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision
Attention to detail, well organized, and able to solve problems
Ability to manage time in order to complete multiple tasks by required deadline
Participate in a fast-paced environment
Be self-motivated and have strong analytical skills
Have a valid Driver's License
