The Managed Services Support, Senior Consultant will provide REMOTE operational managed services support, troubleshooting and issue resolution for mission critical databases, fusion middleware, applications, and related systems. We are looking for a highly motivated consultant that has experience in Oracle Database, Weblogic, Automation, System Administration, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, and other Cloud Computing platforms. You will provide hands-on technical support, monitoring customer alerts, including analyzing incidents, maintenance of software components, applications and systems in support of Oracle Software, Oracle Engineered Systems and Cloud related solutions. You will work as a collaborative member of the Mythics Managed Services Operational Support team that is responsible for providing 24x7x365 support to various clients across the country. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to come in and work with a skilled team and attain knowledge of Oracle, Cloud, and Dev Ops technologies.
The candidate for this position must be open to working traditional and non-traditional work week and hours. Occasionally willing to work weekends, on-call, and alternate holiday schedules. Must be a team player and willing to work with the team on a 24x7 capacity.
Responsibilities include:
Proactively monitor, reporting, troubleshooting, escalate and resolve technical issues with Oracle and associated systems
Incident Management
Review and analyze database logs, middleware logs and operating system logs
Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures to identify and resolve database, middleware and system issues
Problem analysis and resolution
Root cause analysis and resolution
Log support requests with My Oracle Support and other 3rd party vendors as required
Documenting processes, standards and methodologies for working with client data and systems
Developing, updating and maintaining reporting processes and tools
Provide technical troubleshooting on issues requiring rapid resolution related to Oracle Database, Oracle Engineered Systems(Exadata, PCA, ODA & ZFS Appliances), OCI (and other cloud providers) and Oracle WebLogic Server.
Provide Database and Engineered Systems patching as needed
Able to perform day to day Oracle DBA tasks in a traditional on-prem environments as well as in the Cloud. (OCI, AWS, Google Cloud, & Azure)
Automation experience with Ansible, Terraform or other scripting languages
Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology initiatives.
Manage day-to-day efforts toward project accomplishments with general direction from senior technical staff
Participate in project planning and project status communications.
The position requires the ability to work individually and in a team environment.
Prioritization of day-to-day activities and long-term support-oriented tasks is essential.
The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen, must be able to gain and maintain security clearances
Bachelor's degree with a major in computer science, information systems or other related field or equivalent work experience
3 to 5+ years of experience technical consulting or managed services (architecture, design, development, implementation, integration, and/or administration) in a modern database based environment
3 to 5+ years of experience architecting, implementing, developing, supporting and/or administering environments with one or more of the following technologies:
Oracle Database Server 11g, 12c, 18c & 19c
Experience with installation, configuration and patching of Oracle Database in a single-instance and high-availability environments
Experience troubleshooting, performance tuning, testing and administration support of Oracle Database Server
Exposure to non-Oracle database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL Server, DB2)
Exposure to Oracle Fusion Middleware Technologies (Web Logic Server)
Exposure to Cloud Environments (OCI, AWS, Azure, Google, etc...)
Working knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL and JDBC
Trusted professional who can work in a team environment and who can communicate effectively with other team members and customers
Proficiency in the use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize and work with multiple assignments simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Strong dedication to customer service
Superior attention to details
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to ad-hoc changes in the environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working on an operational support or help desk team
Exposure to Remedy ticketing system, Atlassian Service Desk, Service Now or similar tools
Any experience with Oracle tools/technologies is a major plus
Experience with Oracle tools/technologies and database options, such as ASO, Partitioning, Golden Gate, and Data Guard is a plus
Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems (Exadata, Exalogic, ODA, PCA, ZFS Appliance)
Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
