Position Description
This is a high profile and challenging position supporting U.S. Navy acquisition of Naval Weapon Systems. This great opportunity will allow you to take a leadership role in supporting U.S. Navy system development for our ships and sailors. Join an integrated government-industry team in the National Landing (Crystal City) part of Arlington, Virginia to provide technical expertise in the management of integration of missile systems with new and evolving combat systems and sensors. An active DoD Secret clearance is required to be considered for this role.
Serco provides technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of surface ship missile systems. This senior-level position has aspects of systems engineering, engineering management, and other related skills. This position provides technical and management support in missile development, integration, testing, and fielding development of risks and risk mitigation plans.
In this role you will:
Develop, communicate, and execute plans under government program office leadership for the integration of new or existing air defense weapons with existing or new sensors and combat systems.
Communicate and coordinate with government and industry stakeholder organizations such as acquisition program offices, Navy labs and field activities, industry partners, and representatives of the Navy requirements community and the Fleet.
Manage funding for integration efforts on behalf of the program office. Make recommendations for funding requests from sponsors and program offices and plan and recommend funding allocations to supporting activities. Support the Program Objective Memorandum (POM) budgeting process.
Support planning for test events with the test community, identifying test resources, determining resource availability, supporting the scheduling of test equipment, and other related tasks.
Develop risks and risk mitigation plans.
Coordinate where required with the scientific community.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This is a currently a hybrid role with three days per week normally in person in the office.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
Ten (10) years' experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Acquisition, naval weapon systems, acquisition program office, or related industry experience.
An active DoD Secret clearance is required with the ability to maintain per contract requirements.
Excellent organizational, managerial, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
Experience with MS Office 365 collaborative tools such as SharePoint and Teams, and familiarity with data visualization tools.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
10% travel is required for this role.
Additional desired experience and skills to make you really stand out:
Bachelor's or advanced degree in an engineering discipline desired.
Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree. Degree requirements may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.
Top Secret clearance or current investigation a plus.
Experience in Naval missile systems, integration, or interfaces desired.
Experience in DoD acquisition desired.
