We are seeking a Sr. Interior Designer to join our dynamic team. We are a group of design professionals that have a passion for aviation, customer service and airport facility design. In this role you will be responsible for leading the development of creative interior design concepts for regional to large hub airport and aviation facility projects, providing design leadership throughout all phases of the project. You should be able to manage interior design projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provide project team leadership.
In partnership with other architecture practice leaders, you will be responsible for developing trusted client relationships, understanding the client's design intent, identifying project goals, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver projects of the highest quality, on time, and on budget.
This role supports business development/marketing activities at the office and practice level. Participates in pursuit strategy sessions, client meetings, presentations, and interviews to help win new work. Integral member of client-facing team on a variety of projects.
nPrimary Focus Will Include:
Prior experience in a range of aviation facility design is preferred.
Provides design leadership, recognizing and encouraging innovation in others.
Is able to lead programming, space planning, construction documentation, and furniture design for multiple project types.
Is responsible for client contact and for communicating goals and responsibilities to project team.Takes initiative on complex strategic issues such as design direction, client management, or fee negotiations.
Knowledge of detailing, building materials, construction techniques, industry trends, technology, and building codes preferred. Provides quality management of design and/or technical issues such as specifications or detailing.
Is proficient in visual, written, and oral skills; exhibits an expertise in one or more of these areas. Strong graphic and 3D visualization skills to communicate design ideas, including a strong ability to sketch by hand and/or render using current technology.
Encourages others through project processes to achieve client satisfaction.
Provides mentoring of less experience interior designers relative to projects and career development.
Is responsible for managing the client through the project process.
Organizes business development activities through structured contacts with existing or potential clients.
Understands when to involve senior leadership or corporate resources. Is responsible for project budget management and cost control.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
The candidate must demonstrate a keen understanding of the aviation passenger experience, and the key journey touchpoints through an airport terminal experience and how the interior architectural design enhances a positive experience for the passengers, our clients, their staff and their customers.
15-20 plus years of experience preferred.
Portfolio at major US airports, International experience is a plus.
Relationship with large U.S. Airlines is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design
6 years related experience
