Overview
To support Navy Federal's Data Architecture organization, we are seeking skilled and experienced Azure Cloud Architect with a specialization in Azure Synapse and Databricks. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, building end to end cloud-based solutions using Azure Synapse and Databricks. Your expertise in these platforms will be instrumental in guiding the organization's cloud data strategy, driving innovation, and delivering efficient and scalable data analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions using Azure Synapse and Databricks to meet the organization's data analytics requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
Develop architecture blueprints, solution designs, and technical specifications for Azure Synapse and Databricks projects
Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and security protocols
Evaluate existing systems and compute environment, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend strategies to optimize performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Conduct proof-of-concept projects to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of new technologies and methodologies
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in Azure Synapse and Databricks to drive innovation and continuously improve the organization's cloud capabilities
Collaborate with vendors and other external partners to assess and select appropriate tools, platforms, and services for cloud-based data analytics solutions
Provide mentoring and knowledge sharing to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
Qualifications
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
Extensive experience as a Cloud Architect, with a strong focus on Azure Synapse and Databricks
In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based data analytics solutions using Azure Synapse and Databricks
Proficiency in cloud architecture and services, including Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Functions
Strong understanding of big data technologies, data warehousing concepts, and data integration patterns
Experience in implementing data governance, security, and compliance measures in a cloud environment
Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desired Qualifications
Azure certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, are highly desirable

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 3 days / week.
