This role is responsible to work with a broad range of enterprise, segment and division stakeholders to collaboratively develop, implement and sustain Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiatives supporting Caterpillar's talent strategy.
This role is part of the global Talent Management team, and reports to the enterprise Talent Management Director.
This role will focus on supporting diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the workplace, collaborating across the enterprise to innovate, integrate and accelerate D&I processes, practices and programs.
Job Duties
Partner with Senior Leadership and stakeholders across the business to drive the implementation and continuous refinement Caterpillar's D&I model and strategy.
Support segment and business unit action plans that are in alignment with the enterprise D&I strategy by advising, coaching, and collaborating with business, including defining and monitoring relevant talent metrics.
Serve as a subject matter expert on D&I, including monitoring current and emerging trends and providing practical approaches that positively impact employees and our working environment.
Effectively integrate D&I within our talent management strategy, performance and rewards, succession planning, employment brand and recruiting to address current and future business needs.
Partner to design and implement effective analytics and metrics to inform decisions that help optimize business impact.
Provide mentoring and career development to colleagues to strengthen their D&I capabilities, build functional expertise and foster collaboration across the enterprise.
Provide visionary leadership and practical guidance to Employee Resource Groups.
Engage across the business to develop/update policies and processes to ensure they are inclusive and free from unintentional bias.
Partner with recruitment to develop diverse talent pipelines across the enterprise.
This role will have direct responsibility for 1 or more team members and is expected to build highly effective dotted line relationships with D&I resources through the business.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of progressive human resource experience with a blend of experience across HR business partner and D&I type roles is acceptable
5+ years of HR Business Partner/D&I/Talent experience within direct line of business/business unit
Previous leadership experience managing a team of HR professionals
A proven track record of creating vison/strategy and translating into operational execution in D&I/Human Resource/Talent roles
Demonstrated skills and proficiency in the following areas: enterprise point of view, collaboration across matrix organization, ability to influence effectively at multiple levels of an organization, strong teamwork and proven skills communicating effectively.
Top Candidates will also have
MBA or Masters degree in a related field
Experience at a Fortune 500 company advancing the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program
Strong data analytics and project management organizational skills
General understanding of industry products, experience working with business partners and employees in a manufacturing as well as professional environment
Awareness and expertise in a variety of human resources areas
Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills at all levels in the organization
Systems thinker, to understand all the connections and integration points through the entire talent management lifecycle
Ability to make sound business recommendations based on talent data
