Job Description:
L3Harris seeks a System Integration & Test Engineer with strong customer service and influencing skills to serve as Mission Operations Trainer supporting the Strategic Missions Division within the Intel & Cyber business area. This role requires a passionate problem solver to serve as our -Tip of the Spear- system subject matter expert, responsible for training customers on how to use our complex proprietary technology in support of their unique missions.
As a Mission Ops Trainer, the candidate must also be able to manage end to end systems designs (from initial concept to in-field CONOPS) including complex technology insertion, as systems are often maintained and upgraded. This role differs from our typical Systems Integration & Test Engineer, in that it is highly customer-centric and tailored to educate our customer on our classified systems and to build the LHX brand by cultivating strong customer relationships leading to sustained business growth.
The Mission Ops Trainer must demonstrate a strong ability to master complex technology and associated system support equipment followed by delivery of that knowledge to customer teams via multi-week training programs. Our technology portfolio is broad and ranges from Electro-optics to precision mechanisms. Candidate must be able to collaborate with cross-discipline design teams to learn, maintain and troubleshoot systems to ensure proper operation and accurate mission representation to customers.
This position is highly visible and interactive with key customers. Therefore, it requires outstanding oral and written communication skills, along with strong teaching skills, delivered with a customer-focused attitude.
The Mission Ops Trainer partners closely with remote engineering teams and customer representatives to define the priorities for curriculum/courseware development and to coordinate completion with product release dates. As the subject matter expert, the Trainer must be comfortable generating course material, presenting and answering questions in both formal classroom and lab environments.
[Trainers must be willing to perform a [4-6] month field assignments in [Palm Bay, FL / Sterling, VA] to receive necessary program experience and training prior to performing tasking in [VA / FL].]
Essential Functions:
Partner closely with the engineering team to evaluate and implement process improvements, along with developing and delivering training presentations and lesson plans supported by engineering documentation and field service requirements.
Develop instructional materials and/or web-based publications, as well as supporting training courses and demonstrations to ensure participants have a deep understanding of the systems, and the skills necessary to operate and maintain systems throughout their mission CONOP.
L3Harris Brand Management; participate in daily interactions with a wide range of customers.
Learn and perform proprietary hardware installations.
Provide System Administration and Network Engineering support.
Ability to work in a small team environment with minimal oversight; solve multi-disciplinary problems as system integrator.
Qualifications:
Active Top Secret or TS/SCI.
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Experience in opto-mechanical assemblies with the ability to train on the technology.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Ability to work up to 30hrs/week in overtime to meet mission timeline constraints.
Understanding of basic shop math such as ratios, graphs, algebra and basic geometry.
Military trainer certifications.
Experience with Microsoft Office, Confluence, Adobe Dreamweaver and computer proficient.
