Job Description: Director, Tech/ISV Partner Programs

Opportunity for Working Remotely or Palo Alto, California

This position will report to the VP, Tech/ISV Partners and Ecosystem Strategy. This growth role will be responsible for managing a scalable partner program that is designed to onboard new technology and ISV partners. Furthermore, this role requires proactive management of the existing partner community that is part of this program. Cross-group collaboration, clear communications and the ability to influence without direct control over product, sales and marketing teams will be required to deliver business results. Plus in this role, the candidate is expected to work closely with the VMware's Worldwide Partner & Commercial Organization (WPCO) to refine the integrated approach for partnership that facilitates enhanced partner experience.This role requires excellent execution excellence skills.

As a key member of Tech/ISV Partners and Ecosystem Strategy team, you will be responsible for:

  • Manage partners through a scalable partner program like Tech Alliance Program (TAP); consider refinement and integration to other partner programs like Partner Connect 2.0

  • Lead operations and execution of the TAP program with the goal to enhance partner experience and communications

  • Support full lifecycle of activities including onboarding, registration, licensing, enablement, and marketing

  • Unlock new partnership opportunities by pitching VMware technologies and ecosystem

  • Prioritizing and executing programs with internal support from key stake holders and ensuring that the partner business goals are supported through appropriate availability of products, services, enablement, certification and support from VMware.

  • Concise and clear reporting and communicating of activities generating business impact.

Other key areas of focus include:

  • Develop effective partner business plans based on VMware and partner

  • Be selective on number of partners that require 1 to many partner management function; plus identify and align stages of joint go to market

  • Align across VMware and partner product and engineering teams to unlock and deliver on new joint opportunities.

  • Work closely with VMware Marketplace team to identify milestones towards marketplace listing.

  • Manage communications across the cross-functional teams internal and external to VMware.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • The candidate will have over 8 years of professional experience in the technology industry with over 3 years of experience getting results through partnerships with well-regarded cloud, hardware, software and/or services companies.

  • Experience to lead team and build scalable programs for ecosystem

  • Virtualization and end user computing domain knowledge is a plus.

  • Domain experience in cloud, infrastructure or business applications would be a distinct advantage.

  • Cross Group coordination experience is required.

  • Relationship driven with a strong dedication to collaboration and an established ability to build credibility across internal constituents, industry authorities, and external partners.

  • Ability to work across a geographically distributed and matrixed environment, motivating resources toward a common goal.
