As an Electrical Facilities Engineer , you will be responsible for the design and development of facility electrical systems to support the development of engine, battery, and hydrogen fuel cell systems.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Lead construction and facility improvement projects from inception to final commissioning
Lead design teams and provide direction to contractors and workforce labor.
Troubleshoot and support facility systems
Facility maintenance support - Develop standard work documentation outlining preventative and predictive maintenance processes
RCCA (root cause corrective action) - Understand system failure modes and develop corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
BIQ (Built in Quality) and CI (continuous improvement) delivery - Work with teams to eliminate safety and process related issues. Implement robust solutions eliminate future issues. Cascade solutions throughout the facility.
FSR (facility service request) support - Engineer, design and manage projects designed to support the development of engine, battery and fuel cell technology
Quote, budget and deliver projects on time, including material procurement, build, commissioning, and supplier invoicing.
Basic Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology or related field
3-5 year of job-related experience:
Communications devices & protocols - RS232, RS485, Modbus, Ethernet, CAN, CDL, ATA, port servers, etc.
Measurement transducers - pressure, linear, thermocouple, C.T., V.T, RTD
Flow meter and controllers - Coriolis meter, Roots meter, density positive displacement meter
PLC - Allen Bradley PLC-5, Slc500, Contrologix 5000
National Standards - National Electric Code, NFPA 70E, etc.
AutoCAD - electrical schematics
Safety & Quality processes - LOTO (lock out, tag out, try out), SW (standard work), SJP's (safe job procedures), PHA (preliminary hazard analysis, CI (continuous improvement), FMEA (failure mode effects analysis)
Air handling (engine exhaust, combustion air, and cell ventilation)
Fluid supply/return (jacket, glycol, DEF, oil, steam, chilled, SCAC, Nalcool, etc.)
Heat exchangers (tube & shell and plate & frame)
Fuel supply/return (diesel, propane, natural gas, carbon dioxide, methane, and hydrogen)
Dynamometers, cooling towers and chillers, steam and condensate, air compressors and dryers, refrigeration, Instrumentation infrastructure, cell safety, rectifiers and resistor grids
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology/Engineering or related field
Experience with:
Data acquisition systems - National Instruments, VXI, AVL, CSM, eDAQ, etc.
Direct-to-flash ECM's - cell automation & signal conditioning
Dynamometers & drives - AC/DC motors & drives, eddy current, hydraulic pump, & water brake
Load Bank, Switch Gear & Genset - resistive, reactive, AC/DC, etc.
Project management -VM manager & Gantt charts
