What you'll do here:

The Business Law and Paralegal Subject Matter Expert is responsible for authoring Business Law and Paralegal related content across different delivery methods (print and digital) and platforms in alignment with guidance from the Product Manager and Learning Designer. Responsible for the quality of content, both at the authoring stage and throughout the use of the customer lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Authors introductory and advanced higher education Business Law/Paralegal content across different delivery methods (print and digital) and platforms

  • Authors assessment (test banks, homework, quizzes, etc.), textbook narrative, video scripts, videos, Alt-Text, and any other content necessary for discipline/course creation

  • Tags existing and new content with appropriate metadata (learning objectives, difficulty level, etc.)

  • Measures and evaluates disciplines' content quality, capturing and analyzing metrics to provide insights for continuous product creation and improvement

  • Develops authoring guidelines and content review standards for content created by external SMEs

  • Provides quality assurance for content created by external SMEs

  • Resolves discipline-specific content related support issues

Skills you will need here:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in business law, legal studies, or closely related field

  • At least 1 year of experience teaching undergraduate courses in Business Law or Paralegal Studies, especially at the introductory level

  • Experience creating content across various mediums (print and digital; narrative, assessment, video, etc.)

  • Ability to author/create content using the most up-to-date available technology

  • Excellent knowledge of grammar and command of the English language

  • Top-notch written and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris doctorate in law or extensive paralegal experience

  • Experience with metadata tagging and accessibility standards

  • Knowledge of learning design and instructional design methodologies
