Description

Electrician - Chevron Co-Gen

  • Position will be located at the Chevron Co-Gen Plant

  • Position will be covered by the Memorandum of Agreement between Mississippi Power and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers

Job Requirements

Maintenance electrical instrument & control experience preferred. The position will be filled at a Journeyman Level.

Job Knowledge

  • Intermediate or Advanced electrical aptitude required.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as Journeyman power plant electrician preferred.

  • Experience using hand tools, electrical meters, and calibrators.

  • Advanced knowledge of motors, controllers, switchgear, relays, transformers, generators, and AC/DC systems.

  • Experience in electronics, instrumentation, program configuration, distributed/process control systems, PLC's, DCS, and plant electrical is preferred.

  • Understanding of power plant systems preferred.

  • Must have the ability to analyze electrical/electronic circuits, perform electrical/electronic testing and calibration, work in confined spaces.

  • Experience with gas turbines, Heat Recovery Steam Generation (HRSG) and demineralizers preferred.

  • Proficiency with Maximo work order management software.

  • Intermediate or Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel, preferred.

  • Contractor coordinating experience preferred.

  • Must be willing to respond to call-out and work overtime and weekends.

Successful completion of the POSS/MASS pre-employment test is a requirement.
