We have a great position open within Caterpillar (Senior Manager Financial Planning & Analysis) supporting Parts Distribution within Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD). In this role, you will have the opportunity to support Parts Distribution by influencing and recommending the right business decisions, leading and supporting our financial systems team as well as interacting with Caterpillar Corporate and Global Tax on key financial reporting topics for Parts Distribution. This position interacts with and presents to certain division senior leadership, the Division CFO, as well as the many internal customers within Caterpillar.

What You Will Do:

  • Leading a global team of senior accounting professionals responsible for designing, testing and supporting the SAP finance module of the Service Parts Management (SPM) and Antares systems

  • Serving as the accounting/finance Global Product & Process Owner for Service Parts Management (SPM) as a key member of the cross-functional SPM program leadership team

  • Supporting financial accounting & reporting requirements for process changes and various initiatives within the Parts Distribution worldwide network. Assist with complex accounting and finance issues as needed.

  • Managing complex accounting and tax reporting processes and systems related to Aftermarket Parts.

  • Implement new tools and analytics to continuously improve the financial analysis and business insights.

  • Support the Aftermarket Parts strategy that includes the long-term strategic development and short-term tactical planning to ensure growth and financial success for the business, including financial analysis of investment projects.

  • Drive effective and strong coordination with partners across the business.

  • Strategic thought partner with the Parts Distribution team to improve business financial results.

  • Effectively lead, influence, and interact with a global and diverse team. Focused on talent development, succession planning, performance management, and target setting.

  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements and maintain SOX compliance

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in an Accounting or Finance related discipline and 15+ years of progressively responsible experience

  • Business Acumen : Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Finance and Accounting: Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis, and reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Organizational Governance: Knowledge of the processes, customs, policies, and rules affecting the way the organization is administered and controlled; ability to ensure compliance with governance guidelines and policies.

  • Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization.

  • Leadership: Knowledge of leadership practices and processes; ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives while having a long-term perspective of the future state of things and how to get there.

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Financial Forecasting and Modeling: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques of financial forecasting and modeling; ability to explore and evaluate alternative financial scenarios and results.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • MBA, Accounting Certification (CPA / CMA), or Master's degree in a business-related field

  • Strong background in accounting, corporate and legal entity related responsibilities, financial systems understanding, investment analysis and practical experience involving technical accounting and reporting issues

Additional Info :

  • This position will be located in our Morton, IL office

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Sponsorship is not available

  • International and Domestic travel up to 10%
