Do you want to be part of a new team looking at accelerating technology adoption in our industry? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Caterpillar team as a Construction Industries (CI) Sales and Marketing Technology Manager . In this new role, you will lead a team of sales, marketing and technical application field personnel who own and support sales execution, adoption and use of our technology solutions. This is a new field-based management role, designed for a leader willing to be a -pioneer- in a new growth area for Caterpillar. As a newly created position and the first of its kind, this assignment will be complex, challenging and influential to the technology strategy, while requiring excellent teamwork, collaboration and partnership with Caterpillar colleagues, our dealers and our customers.
As the Sales and Marketing Technology Manager , you will:
Lead a team accountable for sales, adoption and use of our CI technology portfolio within region. This includes leadership of dealer/customer field facing team members, including technology sales representatives, marketing resources focused on go-to-market execution and application specialists assigned to specific technology solutions supporting the needs of our dealers and customers. This will require use of a wide range of leadership skills to put in place the appropriate processes, business governance, and communication plans to maximize business returns and employee engagement.
You will specifically be accountable for driving:
Sales and value selling: Technology adoption at machine Point of Sale: Ensuring we provide the right solution leveraging our technology factory offering based on customer needs
Extended technology portfolio: Fleet Management, CAT Productivity, CAT Command
Adoption of aftermarket technology enabled solution: With a primary focus in the short-term on our technology-enabled safety solutions, you will be ensuring we can meet the customer jobsite/fleet needs. Scope may evolve as our technology eco-system progresses and as per product life cycle
Technology Application expertise: Application and field experts in their respective technology solutions areas support the field team, dealers and customer on the adoption and use of technologies to increase productivity of the fleet/jobsite
Go-to-market execution: Overall business execution, KPI management, creation and management of marketing initiatives and program across the technology portfolio of offerings.
Be the key technology sales/marketing leadership representative for the region: Ensure appropriate definition and execution of dealer-specific technology growth plans. You will be accountable for developing and maintaining strong relationships with Dealers and will be the primary leader interfacing with our core field teams and leaders across the various product and aftermarket groups
Provide Voice of Customer and Voice of Dealer to support future new product introductions (NPI)by remaining current on customer/dealer market and competitive offering opportunities
Lead strategic recommendations and changes on the future go-to-market, sales execution model of technology products and product development focus
The successful candidate must bring (Basic Qualifications):
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (4 years), relevant to the role, can be considered in lieu of a degree
10+ years prior experience with dealer and customer engagement
The ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Top Candidates will bring:
Prior supervisory experience
Knowledge in multiple functional areas including: NPI, machine sales and aftermarket
Experience in a role with sales objectives, interaction with dealers and customers, and technology products
Previous experience developing a product or sales execution team of a new product portfolio
Previous experience in Technology products, ideally related to GTM
Effective communication and teamwork skills coupled with a positive, can-do attitude
Commercial acumen, knowledge of dealer organizations and product/market expertise
