Description

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst in Global Planning & Demand Management team is responsible for developing analytics solutions to support the enterprise Sales & Operations planning (S&OP) community.

This position has a depth of knowledge in quantitative analytic methods, data management, and or associated digital technologies suitable to handle the most complex issues. Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, ensuring quality of deliverables, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders.

Job Duties

  • Support Caterpillar enterprise Sales and Operations planning efforts by developing data driven analytics solutions like reports, visualizations, automated alerts to internal and external customers.

  • Work with business partners to understand informational needs, gather requirements and dive into data to create insights, ultimately driving sound business decisions.

  • Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy automated analytics solutions in production.

  • Use data quality best practices to ensure the integrity of the data being used and thoroughness of results.

  • Minimize technical debt and focus on reproducibility (keep docs/code up to date, prepare for future use cases, etc.) and automation of reports by building end to end pipelines.

  • Present insights and data analytics strategies to senior leadership.

  • Leverage business acumen to recognize new opportunities for analytics to improve Sales & Operations planning process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering, information technology, statistics, or a similar field.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Supply chain analytics, Sales and Operations planning processes.

  • 5+ years of experience and strong working knowledge with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and Snow SQL, Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL, Power BI Gateway, and administrative tasks.

  • 5+ years of experience performing data analysis, data modeling and database development in support of BI projects.

Top Candidates will also have

  • Master's degree

  • Experience in Python, SAS, Tableau, and machine learning algorithms is a plus.

  • Desire to maintain diverse skills and stay abreast of new technologies to apply to a wide variety of projects.

  • Self-start with ability to learn, adapt, improvise, and problem solve with poise in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Exhibit strong planning and organization, excellent initiative, the ability to delegate tasks effectively, and well-honed interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Strong team player and ability to work in a collaborative environment.

  • Growth mindset - ability to learn and take initiative to keep up with the latest technology.

  • Contribute to Caterpillar's culture and uphold company core values.

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar Inc., its products, and services; its internal systems, processes, and procedures is a plus.

Additional Information

The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL / Dallas TX.
